SASS 2020 is a one-day interactive, virtual conference taking place July 18th, featuring 5 unique workshops and 2 creative performances, all presented by sober folks.
The purpose of these workshops is to build community capacity and showcase skills and services that have been fostered within each presenter and performer’s sobriety.
Kat Black never really led a conventional or ‘normal’ life. The baby of five, Kat always felt as though she was playing catch up to her siblings, making her feel invisible for many years. She worked unsatisfying jobs in a fast array of fields - bartending, advertising, television, fundraising - to name a few. Relationships came and went.
The one constant in her life was alcohol. It made her feel confident, proud, invincible. Until it just didn’t anymore. Until it crept into all avenues of her life in a wave of fury, leaving so much sadness & destruction in its wake.
Kat quit drinking November 25th, 2017. Since that date, her entire being has undergone a complete overhaul. She has now committed to herself that her life will be full of health, wellness, personal evolution, meaningful relationships and inspired support. Through this transformation, she hopes to inspire other women to feel & live the same.
Join Kat in a discussion about your health in its entirety. It’s not enough these days to just eat your fruits vegetables. We now know overall health includes your Body, Mind & Spirit. If one is out of balance, then they all can suffer.
In this workshop, we will be discussing the most ancient form of healing in the world - Ayurveda - and how incorporating its simple daily practices can help transform your life. We’ll also touch upon the benefits of Yoga, not just as a physical practice but spiritual one as well.
The workshop will begin and end with some breathing exercises and meditation to send you off feeling relaxed and open for what’s to come the rest of the day!

Jocellyn Harvey is the author of Recovering the Home – a decluttering guide aimed at sober women.
She first got into decluttering in early sobriety when she noticed that many of her belongings and shopping habits didn’t align with her new life.
Jocellyn also realized there was so much attention given to managing relationships in early recovery, but nothing on how to make our homes safe and comfortable havens that could support us. That’s why she developed her deep yet gentle 4-Step process for looking at one’s space.
In the Recovering the Home workshop, author Jocellyn Harvey will take you through the 4-Step process she developed to help sober women create a home that better supported their recovery.
Through the steps of Understanding, Aligning, Reflecting, and Personalizing, you’ll start to see how some ways you’ve kept your home were more in-step with your drinking days and learn how you can adjust them in sobriety.
The process is deep yet gentle, and you’ll discover surprising things about yourself along the way! Get ready for introspection, action steps, and a healthy dose of journaling.

Tarot is actually a mirror that awakens our consciousness and reflects our current experience back to us. Through the Major and Minor Arcana (arcana meaning mysteries), the symbols speak of our struggles, our gifts, the characters who influence us and the archetypes we embody. It is a sacred spiritual practice that acts as a bridge between your soul and the Spirit of the Universe.
